Graduate Program

At ASX, we are looking for early adopters of new technology, innovative thinkers and customer-focused graduates.
 
People are our future and this year ASX are looking to bring on data driven thinkers – Data Scientists, Analysts and Developers. 
 
In joining ASX you will be exposed to cutting edge technology, learn how data shapes our business and contribute to leading-edge innovation to help shape the future of Australia's financial markets. You will work alongside data scientists to derivative market experts, project managers to strategists and have the opportunity to learn and develop across multiple disciplines. 
 
At ASX, we are looking for: 

  • Graduates that have a passion for technology and innovation
  • You're curious about emerging technologies and enjoy problem solving
  • Any programming experience you may have – JAVA is an advantage
  • A willingness to learn and adapt to new opportunities and challenges
  • Strong communication and collaborative skills
  • You will have completed a degree, discipline or major in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Business Information Systems, Information Management, Information Systems and Information Technology.

As a part of this two-year program, you will participate in three different rotations across a variety of business areas while completing a purpose-driven professional development program. Your two-year program will commence with an extensive induction, followed by your professional development, based on a three-phased building block approach of getting graduates established, building graduate competencies and rounding out with emerging graduate leaders. Topics such personal brand, self-awareness, influencing, and emotional intelligence will help your career flourish.

Recruitment Process

Online Application Form

The first stage of the recruitment process will involve completing an online application form which will entail behavioural and motivational questions.

Hints & Tips: We encourage you to complete this form in one setting and have all of your relevant supporting documentation readily available (i.e. resume, academic transcript, proof of citizenship etc.)

Online Psychometric Testing

Successful candidates will be invited to complete an online psychometric assessment. These assessments are designed to continuously challenge and stretch you, and although each question is not time limited, your response time is recorded and will contribute to your result.

Hints & Tips: We recommend that you complete this assessment in a quiet environment where you will not be disturbed.

Video Interview

The next stage involves completing a video interview. This will involve answering 3-4 questions designed to help us get to know you better. We encourage you to be yourself and answer truthfully.

Hints & Tips: A helpful tip is to ensure that you are in a quiet environment with a simple background and have no bright lights in the background. We also encourage you to be well-presented during the interview.

Assessment Centre and Final Interview

Successful candidates will then be invited to attend an Assessment Centre which will include a few activities as well as a face to face interview. We will confirm the specific date and time closer to the date via email.

Hints & Tips: The Assessment Centre is designed to assess your ability to interact and work within a team, so we encourage you to show us your personality and engage with your group members.

To be eligible for the graduate program, you will:

  • Be an Australian or New Zealand Citizen, Australian Permanent Resident or International student holding working rights to be employed in Australia.
  • Have completed an undergraduate or postgraduate degree in the past three years
  • ASX is looking for a broad range of skills and experiences and therefore considering graduates with background in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Business Information Systems, Information Management, Information Systems, Information Technology and Statistics are encouraged to apply to our program. 
  • Be available and eligible to commence the role in Early 2022.
