The promotions come around quickly allowing for significant professional growth. This does sometimes mean that social life comes second.

There is a clear career progression within the firm

At the moment I'm satisfied with the position I am in however do believe that there are progression opportunities available for me when I feel ready to put myself up for those roles.

It is very competitive to get promotions at our company

My company has quite a structured pathway for the first 2 years which is nice and I appreciate. Beyond that I think the opportunity for growth within the company and outside (if I left) are quite good.

Have to go beyond expectations for your role, show initiative, think about others rather than just yourself.

There is a set promotion ladder, not entirely clear how to move up and it can depend on the person. From what I have seen, some people get the first promotion a year in, can take others up to 3 years. Being a national team it may impact who goes up as well.

The career promotion opportunities at a big 4 are fantastic as you are constantly moving through the cycle looking to get promoted. Getting promoted involves hitting metrics and producing quality work on all engagements as well as upskilling yourself and contributing additional value to the firm.

Up to the upper management level (Manger and onwards) it is just a matter of time and experience. I think beyond upper management is more about the individual's merit and capabilities.
Graduate, Melbourne
Seems relatively easy to progress up until assistant manager
