Pros & Cons

  • My co-workers and managers are always describing all processes to a high level of detail and we are able to tour the sites, allowing me to gain a high understanding of many aspects of the business.
  • The challenges are great. In Visy, you learn something new every day.
  • I’m in my second rotation. It’s a respectful and professional workplace, reasonably engaging work, reasonable hours and compensation for weekend work, a boss who listens to my input, and the opportunity for growth and development.
  • Flexible work. Great mentors.
  • Endless opportunities to explore your interests and a good overall work culture.
  • Sometimes it can get a little slow but it’s sure to pick right back up again shortly .
  • Long working hours can mean you need to manage your work-life balance.
  • It can be demanding at times where I have to work long hours.

Very lovely team, this has been the case throughout all locations and thus throughout each site, team and department. Hierarchy is structured but those higher up have full intentions to provide you with many skills and to help and guide each individual

Office Work Environment
Dress code is casual - smart casual. Generally we wear long pants/jeans with our work polo. There’s theotential for going out to the factory floor - so I try not to wear my fanciest clothes. Open office space for a few of us, with closed office rooms surrounding it. Doors are generally open and windows show us into these rooms - keeps everything feeling approachable and friendly.

Straightforward. Entertaining and engaging group interview process was the first step. Followed by an interview with our potential supervisors. It was a quick and clear process. Future plans, optimal position & past experiences, including my studies Understand the company and have a genuine interest in it. Pick a company because you think you will be interested in the work. Be open, and prepare questions of your own.
